Polyvion WAR A42 Overview

Dispersion Chemistry & Film Formation

During drying, water evaporates and the dispersed polyurethane particles coalesce into a continuous film; because the product carries a relatively high minimum film-forming temperature of approximately 48°C, formulators should confirm that application and drying conditions, or the addition of an appropriate coalescing aid, support complete film formation at the intended application temperature.

The single-component, physically drying nature of the dispersion means no separate crosslinker is required to achieve a functional film, though formulators seeking enhanced chemical or scratch resistance may evaluate compatible external crosslinkers as part of the overall system design. As with all waterborne PUDs, the dispersion should be well filtered before use to remove any coagulum that may have formed during storage or handling.
