Perovion BPO P-GB is a free-flowing 50% benzoyl peroxide (BPO) granule initiator on a phthalate-free carrier, used for curing unsaturated polyester resins and (meth)acrylic resins at ambient and elevated temperatures.
Key Features
- Free-flowing granular form: Fine, free-flowing granular powder that offers convenient handling and dosing in thermoset composite manufacturing processes.
- Phthalate-free carrier: Formulated on a phthalate-free carrier, supporting compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements in resin systems.
- Excellent solubility in resin systems: Dissolves clearly in the resin, making it suitable for acrylic resin applications where a high degree of optical transparency is required in cured parts.
- Flexible cure temperature range: Can be used at ambient temperatures with an aromatic tertiary amine accelerator, and at elevated temperatures above 80°C without the need for an accelerator.
- Wide process compatibility: Applicable across a broad range of thermoset composite production methods including hand lay-up, filament winding, pultrusion, and resin transfer molding.
Typical Applications
Perovion BPO P-GB is used as a curing initiator in unsaturated polyester and (meth)acrylic resin systems across thermoset composite applications. At processing temperatures up to 80°C, it is used in combination with an aromatic tertiary amine accelerator; above 80°C, no accelerator is required.
Typical end-use applications include engineered stone, gelcoats, continuous laminating, pultrusion, filament winding, resin transfer molding (RTM), vinyl ester systems, acrylic road marking and flooring, chemical anchors and mine bolts, and hand lay-up and spray-up processes.
